HSK Exam Packages

The difference: 1, All HSK tests in Hong Kong are paper-based tests, HSKK will be recorded by a teacher and send to Beijing Hanban for scoring; In China(including Shenzhen and Guangzhou) the tests are computer based tests for both HSK and HSKK; 2, For HSK 3-6 students, you have to write all characters stroke by stroke in a paper-based test, but you can type and choose the characters like on your phone or computer if you take the computer-based tests, so if you learnt to read only, but not to write, you have no choice but to take the test in China, Shenzhen and Guangzhou are both super fast to reach by the high-speed train if you depart from Hong Kong; 3, The certificate issuing dates are different, the registration deadline is also different, if you miss a registration date in HK, you may can still try to get a spot for one in China. 4, The certificate issuing date is different, Hong Kong is about 2 weeks later than China. So, you can choose where you would like to go based on your situation, regarding to how to get the visa on site when you don't have one to Shenzhen, or other information you need help with, pls contact Mandarin Time Staff.

In Hong Kong, the upcoming test date is Aug 18th, registration deadline is July 22. In China, there is a test date every month except February, many students who live in Hong Kong choose to go to Shenzhen or Guangzhou for HSK test as it's within 1 hour's travel. Check for the dates in Shenzhen and Guangzhou in the "HSK online registration form" drop down menu.

For HSK level 1 and 2, you don't need to. But for HSK Level 3-6, from January 2023 on, you will have to take both HSK and HSKK together, the specific arrangements are as follows: Examinees for HSK level 3 must also take the HSKK Primary Level oral test; Examinees for HSK level 4 must also take the HSKK Intermediate Level oral test; Examinees for HSK level 5 and level 6 must also take the HSKK Advanced Level oral test. Results for both the written and oral exams will be reported together.

There's no HSK test centres offering computer-based tests in Hong Kong, only paper-based tests are offered by 3 universities in Hong Kong as of now. If you don't want to learn how to write Chinese, but to read only, going to mainland China to take the test is a good option!

Hanban only offers the exam in simplified Chinese characters . Regardless of the exam version, you can answer in traditional OR simplified Chinese in the writing part.

You will need to bring the HSK admission ticket sent to you by Mandarin Time along with your valid identification document (passport) to the test centre on the day of the exam. Failure to bring either of these will prevent you from being able to enter the test venue. For test centres in Hong Kong, you also need to bring 2B pencils and an eraser for the test. You are not allowed to bring dictionaries or other written materials with you.

For HK test centers: The result of paper-based test will be released on the official HSK website one month after your exam. You can log in to your personal account at www.chinesetest.cn. Official score reports will be sent to our Centre by Hanban two months after the exam date. Collection can be made in-person on Mandarin Time campus/Test centre office or by courier. An announcement will be sent by email. If you choose to collet by delivery service, your score report will be delivered to designated address by S.F. express (for local)or DHL (for overseas)and you can pay for the fee on delivery. For examinees taking the option of delivery to your designated address, please make sure you fill in the registration form your full address before the deadline. If you need a PDF version, please choose "Certificate In PDF" on Mandarin Time's online HSK registration form, it will be ready in 2 months after the test date. For Guangzhou and Shenzhen test centers: The result for computer-based tests will be released on the official HSK website 15 days after your exam. You can log in to your personal account at www.chinesetest.cn. Official score reports will be sent to our centre 1.5months after the exam date. Collection can be made in-person on Mandarin Time campus/ by courier. An announcement will be sent by email. If you choose to collet by delivery service, your score report will be delivered to designated address by DHL (for overseas)and you can pay for the fee on delivery. For examinees taking the option of delivery to your designated address, please make sure you fill in the registration form your full address before the deadline. If you need a PDF version, please choose "Certificate In PDF" on Mandarin Time's online HSK registration form, it will be ready in 1.5 months after the test date.

According to Hanban, the most up to date policy is: You will get a certificate showing the exact score you have for each part of your exam, it won't say you pass or not as before any more.
